ERIN COYNE is a San Francisco-based Artist, Choreographer, and Educator. She is currently a Company Dancer with FACT/SF and Lizz Roman & Dancers. Originally from the Chicago area, Erin began her training under Joshua Manculich and Lizzie MacKenzie. From there, she went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with her Masters in Education, and dual degrees in Dance and Elementary Education. Since then, she has had the pleasure of working with Paufve Dance, Lizz Roman & Dancers, Kinetech Arts, and FACT/SF, among others.
In 2024, Erin was in residency at Michelle Thomas Fine Art with artists Nick Yokley and Jenna Meacham. As a choreographer, Erin has presented her work in Minneapolis, Chicago, and the Bay Area. Her most recent projects being the 2024 "Flight" at Michelle Thomas Fine Art Gallery the weekend of March 9-10, 2024; the premiere of "Flight" at Uzay Gallery in February 2023; and her film collaboration, "shift", which was an award-winning Dance Film in the San Francisco Indie Short Film Festival 2021.
Erin's current movement studies are focused around the manipulation of contrasting body halves and circular trajectories, while creating work and events that help facilitate a broader community exposure to contemporary dance and art. Erin works with her husband and music collaborator, Nick Yokley, on creating works that play with guitar-centric sounds and spiraling movement.
